As Dan Waber considered turning 40 (as if he had a choice), he created this card, graced with nothing more than XL, which usually means "extra large" on anglophone North American clothing labels. But there's also a pun in here: "excel." Aging, folks, is just a chance to take advantage of what you've learned over those particular many years of yours.
